THE WASHINGTON SAVINGS BANK, F.S.B. PRIVACY STATEMENT
As part of our commitment to serve you as effectively and conveniently as possible, and to ensure that information you share with us remains confidential, we have adopted the following privacy principles.
1. Confidentiality. At The Washington Savings Bank, FSB, we respect each individual's right to privacy. Whether you are a WSB customer, a visitor to our Web site, or an applicant for one of our products or services, we understand the importance you place on the privacy and security of information that personally identifies you or your account information. We refer to and treat this information as "personal information."
2. Use, Collection, and Retention of Customer Information. We use personal information in ways that are compatible with the purposes for which we originally requested it. For example, we will use the information you give us to process your requests and transactions in the conduct of our business, administer our internal operations, and to provide you with additional information about products and services that we believe you may find of value. We also collect, retain, and use information about you in order to satisfy legal or regulatory reporting requirements applicable to financial institutions. If we collect information about you, we will do so only for a specific business purpose; and, if you request, we will tell you why we are collecting the information. For example, we request information about loan applicants? credit, income and loan collateral in order to evaluate loan applications. If you apply for a loan, we may verify information you provide us in a manner you authorize at that time. We ask for other personal identifying information so that we can confirm the identify of parties to a transaction.
3. Disclosure of Account Information is Restricted. We do not sell our customer lists. We do reserve the right to disclose or report personal information in limited circumstances, such as when you request or authorize disclosure; the information is provided to effect, administer, or enforce a transaction initiated by you; the information is provided to a credit bureau or similar information reporting agency; the information is used in connection with our account underwriting, servicing, or secondary market transfers of marketable mortgages; to cooperate with law enforcement or regulatory authorities; to perform appropriate audits, credit checks, or collect debts owed to us; to protect our rights or property; and, where the disclosure is otherwise authorized or required by law or governmental regulation.
4. Maintaining Your Privacy When We Do Business Outside Our Organization. It is sometimes necessary to provide personally identifiable information about you to a party outside our organization. Some examples are when we hire a vendor or service company to prepare your account statements, process checks, or to provide support for one or more of our products or services. When we work with outside businesses or companies, we require them to safeguard your personal and confidential information. Companies that we hire to provide support services must also abide by applicable law.
5. Employee Use of Information is Limited. We educate our employees about the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. Our corporate policies require that employees with access to confidential customer information may not use or disclose the information except for appropriate business use related to your accounts with us. All employees are required to safeguard such information.
6. Our Web Site. Visitors to the our public Web site remain anonymous. We do not collect identifying information about visitors to our site. We do use standard software to collect non-identifying information about our visitors, such as: date and time our site was accessed, IP address (numeric address given to servers connected to the Internet), Web browser used, city, state, and country. We use this information to create summary statistics and to determine the level of interest in information available on our site. Additionally, visitors may elect to provide us with personal information via e-mail (online information forms). This information is used internally, as appropriate, to handle the sender's request. It is not disseminated by us or sold to other organizations.
7. Changes. We reserve the right to change the terms of our Privacy Statement from time to time and without prior notice. You may contact us at our address below to obtain the most current version.
8. Accuracy of Information. Maintaining the accuracy of your personal information is important to us. We continue to evaluate our efforts to protect personal information and efforts to keep your personal information accurate and up to date.
